HOW TO MEASURE SEAM SEALING TAPE
To measure for seam tape add
together the estimated finished length of the major seams of the garment you are
making plus any additional areas you want to do. ie. a jacket: Measure both
sleeves, both shoulder seams, both side seams, neck edge, hood casings, plus any
pocket seams, decorative trim stitchlines, front facings, or any other stitched areas that
you want to waterproof. For pants: Measure both side seams, both inseams, pocket
seams and storm flaps. |

DO YOU NEED TO
SEAL SEAMS? When you are using a waterproof fabric, such as Ultrex,
Gore-Tex, vinyl coated taffeta, etc. it is highly recommended that you seal all seams and
needle holes that can be exposed to moisture. NOTE: Every pin & needle hole has
the potential to leak.
LIQUID SEAM SEAL has an
applicator, like roll-on deodorant, that you run along a seam. It works easily on
straight and curved edges but it takes 24 hours to dry. According to the
manufacturer with average washings and use it should last up to 3 years before touch up
may be needed.
SEALING TAPE is applied with a
household iron. It works excellent on straight edges but can be a little tricky
along curved areas (you may need to make small clips in the tape to allow it to bend
around the curve). At times it may be easier on some tight curves to use the liquid seam
sealer. There is no drying time needed. With average washings and use it
should last for many years-probably the projects lifetime. |

Revivex Spray-On Water Repellent for
Outerwear, Gore-Tex and Windstopper garments and all types of breathable laminates and
synthetic fabrics. Works on jackets, bibs, rain gear, hats and more. It also
will totally restore and/or create DWR (durable water repellency) to any outerwear that
can be washed and tumble dried. For all-season comfort, just wash, spray and tumble
dry. It's that simple. RiviveX Water Repellent is durable, non-toxic and
non-flammable.
How ReviveX Works
All rainwear is factory treated on the outside
with a specail water repellent spray called DWR. Over time that treatment wears off
causing outer fabrics to "wet out." Though rain isn't leaking all the way
through the garment, it may feel and look like it is. This is because "wet
out" reduces breathability and creates excess interior condensation making you damp
and cold. ReviveX water repellents are unique because they bond to both the fabric
and any remaining factory DWR creating the most durable water repellent finish avialable.
