The New Quest Outfitters

When Kim and Kay, the longtime owners of Quest Outfitters, decided to retire, they reached out to us - the team at Chicken Tramper Ultralight Gear - and asked if we wanted to carry the company forward. In December 2025 we said yes.

We were honored, and honestly it felt like coming full circle. CTUG was a Quest customer from the very beginning of our business. We loved their customer service, the quick turnaround, and the personal touch they put into every order. Keeping that spirit alive is the whole point.

When we took over, the shelves were thin - the clearance sale before the handoff did its job. Since December we have been rebuilding: restocking the fabrics, hardware and roll goods you came to Quest for, and adding the materials we have always wanted to see here. We are actively working to bring in EcoPak, Alpha Direct and Technowool, and there is more on the list.

What will not change: excellent customer service and access to professional fabrics and materials, whether you are sewing your first stuff sack at the kitchen table or cutting production runs for a small brand. What will keep growing: the selection, the guides and patterns, and the ways we can help you make your own gear.
